Abstract

In this article I transcribe the journey of collecting experiences and work that set the ground of three movements to study dance and space together. The first, a movement against the traditional invisibility of space, its naturalization; the second, about seeking a way to perceive dance that reconnects to its social aspect in another manner, taking in count its peculiarities at different times and spaces, and yet, as the art of movement, how it can be a powerful instrument to integrate other social dimensions, like politics and space; the third, about the possibilities of recognizing the movement that takes place in the space. The text tries to establish a theoretical-methodological composition of how the dance and space categories can be molded from its own mutual feedback. In those junctions, we’ll have several references, all decedents of the knowledge fields I’ve set path with: architecture and urbanism, anthropology and the arts/performing arts.
