This article reflects on Bertolt Brecht's conception of fun, the relevance of this to his theater and, through a new perspective, examines the role laughter can have in understanding and acting on reality, highlighting the laughter found in clowning. It starts this work from the analysis of the concept of fun for Brecht, and the influence of Karl Valentin on him. Later, analyzes the bibliographical references and works of the Argentine clown Chacovachi and the Brazilian Esio Magalhães, making parallels that bring these clowns closer to the goals that Brecht sought with his new theater and, still, give indicative for the construction of a theater that generates a Dialectical Laughter, that is, a laugh with reflection that calls for a position in the face of injustices and social inequalities and that makes the public question the current economic and social logic of this capitalist world.
