MAZZAROPI E ROBERTO SANTOS: CONFLUÊNCIAS ENTRE DOIS FILMES URBANOS BRASILEIROS DO FINAL DOS ANOS 1950

Pretende-se com este artigo averiguar traços que indiquem confluências e oposições entre dois filmes brasileiros lançados em 1958: O Grande Momento, dirigido por Roberto Santos e considerado um dos precursores do Cinema Novo, e Chofer de Praça, primeira produção da PAM Filmes, produtora de Amácio Mazzaropi. A análise comparativa permite que percebamos elementos particulares de cinemas envoltos por propostas distintas, além de possibilitar que apontemos em que lugares essas visões de cinema dialogam entre si, tendo em vista que ambos os filmes fazem parte de um mesmo contexto histórico de cinema brasileiro. Dialogamos com bases bibliográficas referentes à história e crítica do cinema brasileiro, de autores como Fernão Ramos, Paulo Emílio Sales Gomes e Jean-Claude Bernardet, além de obras biográficas e arquivos de entrevistas dadas pelos cineastas analisados. Conclui-se a partir do artigo que a visão mais detida ao material fílmico, feita através da análise, torna perceptível uma relação mais complexa entre dois filmes que a princípio parecem polarizados.Downloads
