About the Journal

Focus and Scope

O Mosaico – Revista de Pesquisa em Artes of Campus Curitiba II FAP / Unespar, opens semiannual calls, since 2019. Submissions must be made exclusively through the author's registration on the UNESPAR journals portal: http://periodicos.unespar.edu.br/index.php/mosaic/index.

The journal O Mosaico, started in 2009 by the FAP Research and Postgraduate sector with a group of professors from the institution, aims to disseminate articles, essays, reviews, interviews, translations, logbooks and descriptive memorials, under two forms of calls: a) Thematic Dossier, with a previously defined period and theme; b) Continuous Flow to receive works located in the areas of Visual Arts, Video Arts, Performing Arts, Cinema, Dance, Music and Theater, in its most varied forms of disciplinary analysis, thus fostering the exchange between students / undergraduates and researchers (graduates, specialists, masters, doctors, post-doctors) from several national and international educational institutions.

All articles published in the journal are evaluated by our Editorial Board, or, when appropriate, by the ad-hoc evaluation of specialists invited to issue opinions. Below are more details on each of the types of work accepted for publication:

Articles:
includes texts that contain complete reports of completed studies or research, opinionated material, literature reviews and similar collaborations. It uses formal language: objectivity, logical organization of topics, connected introduction and conclusion, problematization, explicit methodology and analytical and critical spirit.

Essays:
comprises texts that contain a critical and/or poetic exposition on a given subject. It uses academic or opinionated language, written in first person.


Reviews:
comprises critical analyzes of books, periodicals, collections or audiovisual works, recently published / shown, as well as dissertations and thesis available online.


Artistic-reflective memorial [descriptive]:
comprises a memorial - logbook - of performance or audiovisual creation containing information on the concept of the work and a detailed description of the work of artistic production.

Translation:
comprises the translation of texts from artistic studies in a modern foreign language to its counterpart in the Brazilian vernacular.


Interview:
Comprises the report of researchers, professionals or artists who have been questioned about an object of study.

Peer Review Process

The works received will be previously evaluated by the editorial team of the Journal.

Those that are outside the editorial criteria described in the item "˜Guidelines for Authors' will be returned and the rest will be forwarded to the reviewers for evaluation. The analysis will be carried out in the form of a formal opinion. The entire process is carried out under the anonymity regime, that is, without authors and reviewers being aware of each other. After the analysis, the editorial team will contact the author by email to communicate if the article was accepted or rejected. In case there are modifications suggested by the reviewers, the author must attend to them, having a maximum period of 15 days to return the work by e-mail. Papers will be evaluated for theoretical and empirical content, coherence and mastery based on scientific and artistic literature. Also for the contribution to the specific area, a discussion related to a contemporary topic, text structure, methodology and quality of writing.

Publication Frequency

The journal O Mosaico publishes two editions per year, one each semester. Editions or "˜Special Cahiers' may be published at any time.
