Abstract: This text aims to present and problematize through some notes published in the newspaper A Voz da Escola in 1941, the way in which teacher Júlia Wanderley was portrayed by the students of the School of Teachers of Curitiba. Which ranges from justifications about the choice of the teacher as patron, to the complete transcription of the anniversary festivities of the D. Júlia Wanderley Culture Center, including a speech by the student and director of the newspaper of that edition. It is a bibliographic and documentary research, which made it possible to identify in the newspaper elements that allow us to recognize that the teacher was ahead of her time, fought and conquered her space, in a period predominantly dominated by men, a life trajectory that after her death was transformed into an example of a woman/educator who came to meet republican ideals and the need to build a feminine identity in Paraná.
