O Atlas Mnemosyne na formação docente em Artes Visuais: memória, imagem e experiência pedagógica

Abstract

This article presents a teaching project developed in the undergraduate Licenciatura em Artes Visuais at Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina, inspired by the thought of Aby Warburg and his Atlas Mnemosyne. The pedagogical proposal invited students to create visual atlases based on images related to their memories, personal experiences, and cultural references, articulating photography, artworks from art history, everyday images, and authorial productions. Also grounded in the reflections of Georges Didi-Huberman and Etienne Samain, the text discusses the image as a space of memory, survival, and thought. The analysis of the works produced by the students highlights the potential of atlases as poetic, autobiographical, and formative exercise, capable of fostering relationships between art, memory, subjectivity, and visual arts education.
