Abstract

Literature can be an ally in the process of initial teacher training, since it enables reflections on the historical and cultural conditions of society. Through literature, students have the opportunity to reflect on older contexts, but also on their own living conditions, values and beliefs. Using literature as a teaching strategy in the initial training of future teachers can contribute to ensuring that students respect respect for transversal themes, such as diversity and inclusion, once these permanent teaching and learning processes are established. The objective of this work is to report an experience involving the use of children's literature as a strategy for the training of students of a Pedagogy course. A methodology used for the development of training guidelines, aiming at continued training of two teachers and opening current thematic areas, such as gender, moral values, diversity and deficiencies, through children's books accompanied by students from the last year of the Pedagogy course. a university. São Paulo interior. As a result, we perceived a greater involvement of two students with proposed activities. We suggest that this involvement may have occurred due to the use of more active pedagogical strategies. Furthermore, we affirm that working with children's literature can enrich the training of future pedagogues, expand their critical vision and contribute to the construction of moral values.
