In this article, our theme is reading and writing alongside Science and Portuguese as a Native Language Teaching. We bring as a contribution the Historical-Cultural reference, which teaches us that language is constitutive of the subject, therefore, for students to learn, they must first delve into specific vocabulary of each area of knowledge, and one way to do this is through reading and writing. In a specific way, we direct our attention to practices that involve Scientific Dissemination (SC). We carried out a bibliographic review in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD) and the data obtained were analyzed using the assumptions of Discursive Textual Analysis (ATD). From the analysis, we achieved at ninety-one units of meaning (US), from which fourteen initial categories emerged, four intermediate categories, and a final category: Reading and writing practices enhanced with the use of Scientific Dissemination Texts ( TDC): Specificities, (re)definition and Interactions, this category was viable considering the historical-cultural reference, amongst the main ideas defended in the text: reading and writing practices as tools for accessing knowledge; the positioning of the student, who needs to put themselves in their role as reader and/or writer; the teacher as a mediator or instigator of knowledge, which can happen through genres, especially CD genres.
