Abstract

Despite advances in the area, the use of Design Thinking in education is still something new and challenging. This study aims to map scientific production on Design Thinking in the area of education in one of the main databases, the Web of Science – WoS, from January 2000 to February 2024, analyzing the records that present the terms selected for the search, based on a literature review on the topic in question. As a methodological path, an analysis of the bibliometric description was carried out based on investigations indexed in the Web of Science - WoS. Identify the areas of concentration, the most cited works, the publications per year, and the co-occurrence networks of keywords and bibliographical closures per country. As a result, there are 492 articles, with emphasis on the 10 most reported studies, the evolution from 0 to 96 articles published per year, in the period from January 2000 to February 2024 and a network of cooccurrence of keywords of which “ Design Thinking”, “Education” (Education), Students (Students) and Computational Thinking (Computational Thinking) are those that appear most frequently, which is resolved by the search filter itself. Regarding the bibliographical closure by country, of the 26 that publish the most, the United States (13), China (7), and Taiwan (6) are those with the highest volume of publications. Brazil does not have published documents with the filters used. Finally, the study demonstrates that Design Thinking has been used considerably in education in recent years.
