This study aims to investigate the teaching of Natural Sciences to deaf students and the training offered by the teaching degree programs of universities in the state of Ceará in the areas of Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. Through a literature review and document analysis, a comprehensive assessment was conducted on Specialized Educational Assistance, Brazilian Sign Language (Libras), and the challenges faced in teacher education in higher education, focusing on the curricula of the selected courses. In this analysis, it was verified how special education and Libras are addressed in teacher training. The research revealed significant gaps in the preparation of teachers to deal with Special Education and meet the needs of the deaf community, especially in the curricula of the studied teaching programs. This highlights the importance of teachers' continuing education to enhance their knowledge in Libras and inclusive education, thus promoting the interaction and inclusion of deaf students in schools. The purpose of this research is to generate new knowledge and information that can contribute, both theoretically and practically, to improve the teaching of Natural Sciences to deaf students.
