Abstract

This article aims to investigate how Natural Sciences undergraduates perceive the use of images and their influence on teaching and learning processes, seeking to support discussions and training courses focused on the topic. The qualitative research included a questionnaire carried out via Google Forms with 41 undergraduate students. The questions were analyzed according to Content Analysis. The results indicated that for the majority of respondents, images are always or generally used and searched mainly on the internet, fulfilling functions of teaching-learning facilitators, in addition to making classes more dynamic. They are self-explanatory resources and although the majority indicate that they have criteria to select them, a significant portion do not have them or admitted to never having thought about them, denoting a naive view and the need to include this topic in the teacher training path.
