Abstract

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental neurological condition that affects communication, social interaction, and behavior. A wide range of symptoms and severity levels can occur such as deficits in communication, social interaction, repetitive behaviors, restricted interest and sensory sensitivities. In this context, this study aimed to carry out a review of the scientific production of ASD in the state of Tocantins. A total of 20 articles were selected from field research (n = 7) and bibliographic reviews (n = 13). The field studies involved a tendency towards themes such as teachers' perception of autism, phonic method, clinical case, and diagnosis of the education scenario. As for the review articles, the main themes were the relationship between the use of robots and remote laboratories. The Federal University of Tocantins was the main research institution focused on autism in Tocantins. Finally, considering the low number of research in the state and the increase in autism cases, carrying out more research in the region will be important to understand the current scenario and improve inclusion management.
