Practices in Bilingual Education: from its conception to execution

With the growing number of schools self-styled bilingual, it is necessary to reflect on what the conception of bilingual adopted is. Is a bilingual one who makes use of two languages with a high level of proficiency? Or, perhaps, a speaker who knows some words in a language besides their own? After all, it is from this vision that all the pedagogical work will be developed. This work aims to present bilingual conceptions; as well as to develop language acquisition theories; and to work on the importance of educational planning bringing methodologies and methods of evaluation in bilingual contexts. The work was developed based on research and bibliographical references in the fields of bilingualism, education, and the teaching, learning, and language acquisition process; as well as in the studies of the author during his undergraduate in Letras - Inglês and his specialization in Bilingual Education Practices. The results brought up in the elaboration of this research aim to help the education professional in the implementation of bilingual teaching in their classrooms.
