This study investigates the relevance of alternative learning spaces, such as museums and planetariums, with a focus on the Planetarium of Vitória da Conquista, Bahia. The objective is to explore the advantages of using planetariums in the teaching and learning process. Through a qualitative approach, we administered online questionnaires to 10 participants in June 2022, also utilizing interviews, observations, and documentary research. Content analysis revealed that sessions at the planetarium positively impacted learning about physics and astronomy, significantly increasing knowledge and sparking interest. The results highlight the crucial role of the planetarium as an educational environment, expanding scientific understanding and stimulating learning in these areas. Despite the interest in dark matter, a disparity in participants' prior knowledge was observed, emphasizing the need for educational and scientific outreach strategies. The study underscores non-formal spaces as effective tools in disseminating scientific knowledge, fostering interest and understanding. Limitations, such as sample size and subjectivity, are acknowledged. The findings contribute to enhancing scientific outreach activities, emphasizing the importance of analyzing visitor accounts in environments like planetariums. In summary, the planetarium emerges as a transformative agent in the community's relationship with astronomy, science, and culture.
