Abstract

This article examines the role of pedagogical supervision in improving the quality of education, highlighting its evolution from an inspection-based practice to a formative and collaborative process. The study discusses three supervision models — traditional, clinical, and collaborative — and their contributions to teachers’ professional development and students’ learning. The research adopts a qualitative approach based on document analysis and literature review to understand how different supervision models influence pedagogical practices. The traditional model is characterized by hierarchical supervision and control of teaching practices, while the clinical model emphasizes individualized and reflective follow-up. The collaborative model promotes active teacher participation and the exchange of experiences among educators. The study concludes that pedagogical supervision, when oriented toward collaboration and continuous professional development, significantly contributes to a more inclusive, efficient, and high-quality education system. Furthermore, the research suggests that adopting participatory supervision models may lead to improved teacher performance and better student learning outcomes.
