Abstract

This paper addresses active teaching methodologies, highlighting their importance in contemporary pedagogical practice. The main objective is to analyze these methodologies, exploring their potential and challenges, and how they can positively impact education. Active teaching methodologies are pedagogical approaches that place the student at the center of the learning process. They engage students actively, encouraging participation, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Among the active methodologies discussed in this paper are Problem-Based Learning (PBL), the Flipped Classroom, collaboration, and cooperative learning, as well as the integration of technology into the curriculum. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is a strategy that presents students with problem situations, challenging them to seek solutions through research and collaboration. The Flipped Classroom proposes reversing traditional classroom activities, where students study the content at home and use classroom time for discussions and practical activities. Collaboration and cooperative learning encourage students to work in teams, promoting mutual learning and the development of social skills. Additionally, the integration of technology into the curriculum has become a fundamental part of active methodologies, allowing access to digital resources, simulations, and virtual learning environments. These technologies expand the possibilities for student engagement and personalized instruction. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of active teaching methodologies, highlighting their benefits and challenges, and how they can be applied in pedagogical practice. It is hoped that this analysis will contribute to a deeper understanding of these approaches and inspire educators to explore new ways to promote meaningful and engaging learning.
