“No Walk, No Work”
From walking practice to artistic research

Abstract: This article reflects on the way in which, in the context of Contemporary Art, the act or action of “walking” has become an important practical modality of thought for the territories of theory and artistic research. In the light of these ideas, which take walking as an instrument of aesthetic experimentation, we will seek to reflect on its use, reviewing some moments of Art History, in order to put into perspective, from the work of some authors, this line of thought that unifies in a single reasoning - the artist's phenomenological, affective and kinesthetic involvement with the place, - and the strategic questions of intervention and physical, symbolic and conceptual transfiguration of the territory.
