This article discusses the domestic use of water, in order to understand which alternatives such are used in accordance with the way of life of Amazonian riverside communities: Furo Conceição and Furo Samaúma, both located on the Island of the Onças, the state of Pará. This article aims to study changes in habits and sociocultural perception related to domestic water use. The chosen methodology consists of an exploratory study, with a qualitative approach, based on a bibliographic view on the theme. in order to better understand the theory about the problem addressed and also the socioeconomic characterization. It was also used to survey of the forms of domestic use of water in which we sought to analyze changes in sociocultural habits when using available water resources, in addition to observing and understanding the subjective aspects of domestic water use in these places.
