Abstract

This article analyzes the artistic intervention “Ruptura do Invisível”, a photoperformance by the artist Sérgio Adriano H, carried out in an urban space. It is our objective to understand the power of this work for tensioning ethnic-racial relations in Brazilian society. Discussions are carried out in dialogue with the contributions of Nicolas Bourriaud, Mikhail Bakhtin, Achille Mbembe, among other authors. As a result, we saw that the work invests in the production of approaches and collective experiences that problematize racism in urban contexts. It thus configures itself as a device that, by provoking affections in people who are related to the work of art, contributes to making visible and tensioning the regimes that sustain ethnic-racial inequalities in Brazilian society.
